November 15,2015 I still have not gone to the vet but at least Kat and Bill are home more this last week.
They are have been very sad most of the summer and gone a lot. I have spent lots of time inside in my large sleeping crate.
At first Kat was scared to leave me outside and than they had to replace my fence and just lately has she allowed me to stay
outside while she has gone away but she isn't gone very long. Not like she had been before. She has said things like broken
hip, hospice, funeral, moving, new jobs.... and she said I would never see grandma again. She also said that Doug has moved
to a place where I can't go visit him anymore and that I will probably not see Angie anymore either. I liked her but
not the long drive to see her - maybe she will come see me one of these days. I hope so. Kat did say that Doug will be living
closer so maybe he will come see me more often. I was hoping she would forget about the vet but she mentioned
that today so I bet I being going there soon.
July 15 A lot has happened lately with lots of people coming and going. I have no idea what is going
on but my family has not been happy for awhile. Kat says I need to go to the vet for my annual check up and shots but she
has not been able to get time to schedule an appointment. I have been inside a lot because of the mosquitoes and heat
- but I prefer to be with my family.
March 27, 2015
So much has happened but due to computer problems I have not been able to tell you about them. So here is a quick summery.
I have seen the vet a lot this past six months. First I scraped my paw and would not stop licking it. The sore turned into
a glaucoma (i think that is what the vet said) and Kat had to treat it twice a day with a liquid medicine. It was super strong
and the vet told her to wear gloves when she treated me. I had to go back and have it checked and he said we would have to
live with the results but that Kat should continue to treat it for another month. That didn't happen because I was back to
the vet the next day with a kidney infection. Kat had to give me medicine in a tastily covering twice a day for 10 days. During
this time my paw healed up to the point it was starting to grow hair again. A month later I started licking it again so Kat
brought me a set of boots. I soon learned that if she saw me licking my paw that she would make me wear the boot. It worked
because my paw is now covered with fur again. Things were going okay until the county decided to trim trees and something
causes my eyes to become red and I was back to the vet's office. He order Kat to put medicine in my eyes twice a day and I
didn't like that at all. In fact Kat had to muzzle me at first but after a while it never hurt anymore and I was okay with
the medicine. We had to go back for a recheck but he just said to continue the medicine and if that never worked I may have
to see a specialist. Kat stopped the medicine after the allotted time and was beginning to worry but she want to see Doug
one weekend and moved my sleeping crate into the kitchen (out of the garage) and when she came home my eyes were almost back
to normal. I have slept in the living room ever since and my eyes are back to normal.
Kat brought me back a new feeding bowl that has dividers in it. She said I was eating my food too fast and this would
slow me down. I didn't like it at first because it was hard getting my food - so yes it slowed me down.
She hurt her wrist this week and could not garden so she had time to go to the pet store and I have a new treat ball.
She put my supper in it tonight and it really slowed my eating down but it was so much fun chasing that ball around.
