Summary

So many things have changed over the years. The boys have all moved away and I now share the house with my two older humans, Sunny the bird and Artie the snake. Since I hurt my leg back in Dec. 2020 (I think) I am no longer permitted on the hardwood floors since I can't get up from them when I lay down. In fact, I have trouble getting up a lot now days. Kat puts a sling around my belly when we go outside to help me get up when I crisscross my back legs. Other than that, I am alert and mentally well.
The vet put me on a diet to lose weight which is supposed to help me walk and I am getting some arthritis medicine for my joints. I have lost some weight, but it hasn't helped with my mobility that I can see. It just made it easier for Kat to lift me.
During the pandemic Kat forgot to give me my heartworm medicine and I got a bad case of fleas. So, this summer I got lots of baths and she vacuumed and shampooed the carpet weekly. Needless to say, I am back on the heartworm/flea medicine and the house is free of fleas.
Kat still takes me for walks around outside at least twice a day and lets me stay on the front porch when I want to. We usually only do one lap around before I tell her I need to rest a bit. We were up to four laps at the beginning of the summer but now usually two is my max.
She got this machine that plays music for me when I bark which makes it nice when they are away. LOL Sometimes I bark when she is home to listen to the music and she tells it to stop - so I just walk over to that machine and bark at it until it comes on again. I like the music!
In the evenings they both work on their computers or phones, but they do turn the TV on for me to watch. I like to bark at the animals on the screen and at the people when they are hurting others especially if they hurt a woman. People should not hurt other people or animals!
The humans have been busy this year - they worked on the garden shed and a new tomato trellis this summer and spent a lot of time in the garden.
They also got new doors for the fireplace and are lighting more fires this winter, so my new favorite spot is next to Bill's chair in front of the fireplace.
Kat is worried about some areas of my body which either have sores or are bleeding. She trimmed most of the long hair from my private pee areas (really, I was not happy about that at all). She said there were some white raised areas there and she wanted that area to dry better. Also there is a growth on my one nipple which the vet said wasn't anything to worry about, but it has been red and bleeding lately, so Kat talked with the vet and now she is putting medicine on those two areas twice a day. If they don't improve, I may have to go to the vet's office. I hope they get better soon since it is hard to get into the car and I don't want to go to the vet.
